About
Honest notes on AI that actually earns its place.
Field Notes is the writing arm of Arkive Labs. Every post is something tried in real work, not a listicle of tools someone skimmed.
I'm Akesh Chandrasiri. I write about using AI tools, ChatGPT, Claude and the rest, for the day-to-day work of freelancers and small businesses: proposals, scripts, client briefs, content repurposing, and the small decisions that separate useful output from confident nonsense.
The rule here is simple: show the test, name the limits. When I compare two tools, I run the same prompt once in each and fact-check the result. When a workflow has a weak spot, I say so. The goal is writing you can act on today, not hype.
What you'll find
- Repeatable workflows with the exact prompts.
- Side-by-side tool comparisons with real output.
- Plain-language guides for freelancing and small-business tasks.
